Our verticutting process begins with one of our lawn care professionals running our commercial-grade verticutting machine over the entire surface of your lawn. This machine will cut small, uniform slices into the surface of your soil. As the machine cuts these small slices, it also cuts through any thatch layer that may have built up in your lawn, which will help air and moisture to more easily reach down into your soil. These grooves also provide excellent soil contact for the new seeds we spread over your lawn.
During our verticutting service, we will spread premium fescue seeds across your lawn.
We choose to use premium fescue seeds when verticutting lawns because this naturally low-maintenance, cool-season grass is known for its robust root system and drought resistance. We spread about three-to-five pounds of premium fescue seeds for every 1,000 square feet throughout your yard. Fescue is one of the types of grass commonly used in lawns in our area of Indiana and blends well with other types of cool-season grasses used throughout the area such as Kentucky bluegrass and ryegrass. These traits make our premium fescue seeds a perfect match for our verticutting service.
