Our Schedule: Fertilization With Insect & Disease Control
Our four-application tree and shrub fertilization service is specially designed to give your landscape plants everything they need to grow strong and resist threats from pests and fungi. We start with a dormant oil application in spring, apply two treatments of fungicide and insecticide throughout the following months as needed, and then apply fertilizer in the fall.
Dormant oil will control and clear out mites and small insects coming out of winter dormancy before they have a chance to damage your plants. The insecticide will protect against bagworms and other insects by creating a barrier on trees and shrubs. An application of fungicide will guard trees and shrubs against disease and fungus stress. Finally, in the fourth application, we round off the year with a fall fertilizer to help your plants bounce back from summer and store up additional nutrients for the upcoming winter. The schedule shakes out like this:
- Application 1: Dormant oil application
- Application 2: Application of insecticide and fungicide
- Application 3: Application of insecticide and fungicide
- Application 4: Fall fertilizer
Our Methods: Spray or Soil Injection
For applying our treatments, we have two methods we utilize. The first is soil injections, used to deliver the fall fertilizer directly to the roots so your plants can absorb every ounce of those rich nutrients. The next method is spraying, which we use for the other three applications to build a barrier, preventing further damage from feeding insects that chew, bore, or suck. Both of these methods have their benefits in the respective applications, so we use both to ensure we're getting the best results for your trees and shrubs!
